Theory and theorizing in the social science
My work on scientific institutions has led me to consider the production and circulation of knowledge within my own field. I approach sociological theory from a naturalistic perspective, with an emphasis on the role of theoretical knowledge in strategies of discovery. At the moment I am interested in how sociologists use theoretical models in the absence of theoretical consensus and in the role of books versus articles in the social sciences.
